Description
Designed for time trials.
The fastest bicycle tire ever tested features the lightest tubeless-ready casing on the market. This race-day specific weapon has raised the bar on tire technology! The Corsa Speed uses a proprietary Graphene compound, which is then paired with an ultra-fine Cotton-T casing. The end result is a tire that maintains the lowest rolling resistance, while still providing the trademark Corsa suppleness, and outstanding wet weather grip. When used in tubeless form, the casing works perfectly with sealant, providing an even higher level of flat protection. This casing can also be used with an inner tube, if preferred.
TECHNOLOGY
Tubeless TLR ROAD: TLR construction offers ultimate puncture protection and speed. It uses a robust new bead material called Zylon for optimal air retention. Tubeless-ready set up is the lightest and fastest casing option. That’s one of the reasons pros choose CORSA.
Cotton Casing: Vittoria is the first and still number one producer of cotton tires. As of today, only Vittoria best road tires are made out of cotton, a light material which makes the casing very flexible. Cotton threads have the thinnest structure in the tire casing technology, with benefits related to lightweight and flexibility. This characteristic allows to develop casings with a higher number of threads per inch, up to 320 TPI for the top-quality cotton casings. This property allows the tire to conform closer to the road´s surface, providing a smoother ride, easier rolling, and better grip. In order to boost the overall strength of the casing, Vittoria uses Cotton yarn, which is a particular type of yarn made by cotton and aramid fibers combined. Vittoria´s Cotton casing is used for Pro Competition products, proven by multiple victories as in Tour de France, Giro d´Italia, Vuelta a Espana, Classics, World Championships, European Championships and Olympic Games.
About GRAPHENE technology in tires: Graphene is the innovative material used by Vittoria in compounds to improve performance of tires. Graphene is the world´s thinnest material but at the same time one of the strongest ever used for consumer applications. Made of a single hexagonal-shape layer of carbon atoms, Graphene interacts with rubber by filling the space in between the rubber molecules. It acts like a magnet, making rubber molecules closer to one another and improving the overall rubber structure. Graphene´s main properties are related to: Thinness / Strength / Flexibility / Lightness.
